WEEKK11

this session today was basically going over the basics of poster presentation. it was extremely basic as posters are and was at very low level of importance. i felt that the things trying to be taught today were at a child's level and were boring and demotivating.

WEEK 10

this weeks ethics assignment was confusing as the ethics situation was quite straight forward. some members of the group still couldn't get a handle on this and couldn't get out of their one minded 'im always right' thinking process.  I contributed to 1/3 of the over all power point as it was done in a group of 5 and couldn't be there to present the 4 slides written so was quite confused when I was marked absent for doing the power point work, maybe some peoples ethics should be questioned in this?

WEEK 9

in today's lesson it was very boring. we watched a video which wasn't very helpful at all as it was just showing how people use customer service, this wasn't helpful because i have been interacting with people my whole life and it is simple to apply this interaction with customers. the presentation was had to get stimulated about as it is very simple and once again hand fed to us.

week 8

the drill down problem solving technique was meant to be used today for our power points. this technique seems good on paper but realistically only worked for about 70 % of the time. it wouldn't allow the elaboration on some points which needed to be added but weren't justified in the use of the drill down for instance things which didnt pose a threat but still needed to be addressed.

week 6

trying to find an NZ body to affiliate our company at first seemed hard but when there as so little companies out their dealign with fiberglass, there was one or two quite well outlined companies. the team who worked on the power point again worked very well together and every one is listening to peoples ideas and takign them on board.

week 5

Today's plan of the health and safety management plan was easy to do in the groups as this was quite basic and straightforward. it wasnt hard at all to find the basic acts that the New Zealand Govt. has produced for workign environments. these papers we get every week are really just hand feeding us the information. there is no real challenge involved in finding out what is needed to be done for the power points other than typing a few words into google.

week 4

In today's lesson, It was very boring. Learning about the referencing was the only thing I was interested in as it was new to me. During this I lern't a lot. It will certainly benefited me as I have already put it into use in my assignment. The rest of the class was boring due to the unessential topics like the Library that we had already had a seminar on previously.

week 3

what was interesting today was the way people interacted with group work. one of the challenges i was faced with was in the group work as i felt like if it was an individual task then i would have felt more comfortable in doing the work. every ones ideas and personal opinions clashed at least once or twice throughout. dealing with this problem was simply to sit back, accept peoples ideas and analyze them. in future the information required would be to outlined clearer on what we were having to do, we new that we had to present a power point on communication but none of us new how the teachers wanted us to link it to our Business Idea that hadn't been created yet.

week 2

This week was very basic, hearing about our assignment was good and clear. Going over the Paragraphs were very reassuring and helped me understand what was expected of the paper. The challenge for me in this first health and safety Assignment will be researching the topic thoroughly and covering all of the basic points. The literacy Test which was completed today seemed very boring and pointless but should help the teachers with our learning which has its benefits. My score I got wasn't too bad since I did not complete the last year of secondary school.

On the first day of this course i did not no what to expect. I had an idea in my mind were there would be a lot of talking on the teachers behalf and be quite boring. Instead I have found on the first day some positives, and challenges which i am looking forward to facing. The methods that the lecturers have on there way of getting the information to you i think is quite good and straight forward. this will defiantly be a highlight for me when learning as there is minimalistic  messing around. The challenges I see coming my way is defiantly getting my head around the start of the assignments, when this is done i shall be more confident and be able to chug away at it. I hope through out this semester to be able to pass all of my assignments and learn more and take on board what the lecturers have to say and discuss as by the way they are going at the moment, they seam worth listening to. The group work will be a great resource as no body knows every thing and the things you do know, some others may not no and vice versa. This year seams to full of challenges and some hard work ahead, but then again it is what i signed up for.
